Percy Tau is NOT Leaving Al Ahly

Former Mamelodi Sundowns star, Percy Tau, is still plying his trade at Al Ahly SC.

That’s according to a media spokesperson for the Egyptian club when it was reported earlier this week that Tau had left the club after only one year.

“We spoke to club officials and they confirmed that it was incorrect information,” the spokesperson said in a recent interview.

A source close to Al Ahly also spoke to a North African soccer outlet, confirming that these reports were false.

“How can [Tau] break his contract? There are offers, but they are just verbal conversations,” the source explained. “He is a player with us so far. If an (official) offer comes, we will discuss with the club’s management and the football company to resolve the situation.”

Although Tau appears set to stay, Kaizer Chiefs now seem to have their eyes set on the 28-year-old forward: soon after those departure reports were published, they responded to his year-old tweet – in which he congratulated Keagan Dolly on joining the Glamour Boys – with a heart and peace sign emojis.

Will Tau consider rejoining the Premier Soccer League? Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
